Service Overview

DailySudoku is a Sudoku game available on the web and on iOS and Android apps. It works without an account, and your data is stored on your device or in your browser. This policy applies to all platforms.

02

Data Collected and Stored

The iOS and Android apps store your game progress, settings, completion and failure records, and daily completion status locally on your device. The service provider does not access this data, but if your device's OS backup (Google or Apple) is enabled, this data may be included in the backup and stored in the provider's cloud. The web stores your in-progress game (resume), completion and failure records, daily completion status, and gameplay and appearance settings (theme, accent color, etc.) in your browser's localStorage; this data stays only in your browser and is not sent anywhere. The web currently uses Coupang Partners (affiliate advertising) and Firebase / Google Analytics (GA4). While a Coupang ad is shown, the ad frame sends your IP address, browser and device information (User-Agent), and the referring page address to Coupang, and Coupang's domain may store cookies in your browser (shown only to visitors in Korea, and only after consent — see section 4 below). Firebase / GA4 anonymously collects usage-analytics events such as puzzle start, completion, and hint use and sends them to Google (no personally identifiable information or advertising identifier included). You can turn off usage-analytics collection at any time in Settings. Coupang Partners and Google AdMob advertising, and Firebase / GA4, are planned for a future release on iOS and Android. Once introduced, the ad provider will receive your IP address, browser and device information (User-Agent), and the referring page address as part of loading an ad; AdMob may additionally collect and process your device's advertising identifier, IP-based coarse location, device and app information, and ad-interaction data to serve ads, control frequency, and measure performance. iOS and Android may also send your IP address to an IP-based location lookup service in order to decide which ad to show.

03

Purpose of Use

We use it to save game progress, retain settings, compile completion records and statistics (app), diagnose errors, and improve the service. Coupang Partners ads on the web are affiliate ads: if you purchase a product through an ad, we receive a commission from Coupang. Web usage-analytics data from Firebase / GA4 (puzzle start, completion, hint use, etc.) is used to analyze usage and improve the service. If advertising is introduced on iOS and Android, ad data will be used to serve ads, control frequency, and measure performance, and the Coupang Partners ads to be introduced there will work the same affiliate way as on the web.

04

Third-Party Sharing and Processing

Data related to Coupang Partners ads on the web is sent to Coupang (subject to Coupang's privacy policy). Coupang ads on the web run only inside a frame on an isolated domain (ads.dailysudoku.app) separated from this site, and cannot access data this site has stored. Coupang ads are shown only to visitors in Korea and only after consent; if consent is not given, only our own (Object) house ad is shown. Web usage-analytics events from Firebase / GA4 are sent to Google (no personally identifiable information, no advertising identifier (IDFA); subject to Google's privacy policy). Web usage-analytics collection does not use a separate consent flow — it operates under this policy's notice and the service provider's release approval, and you can turn off collection at any time in Settings (turning it off stops any new data from being sent from this device immediately). If advertising is introduced on iOS and Android, the ad-related data above will be sent to Coupang and Google (AdMob) respectively (subject to each company's privacy policy). To decide which ad to show, iOS and Android may send your IP address to an IP-based location lookup service. The fallback ad shown when no ad can be loaded is our own (Object) asset and sends no data to third parties. On iOS and Android, in regions where consent is required (such as the European Economic Area and the UK), we first gather consent for ad personalization through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), and no ad is shown if consent is not given. If Firebase / GA4 is introduced on iOS and Android, the usage-analytics events above will be sent to Google (no personally identifiable information, no advertising identifier; subject to Google's privacy policy). We will also note any other features such as payments in this document if introduced, and we do not otherwise share or sell your data to third parties.

05

Storage (Local · Browser)

The apps store data in your device's local storage (Android DataStore/Room, iOS local storage), and the web stores data in your browser's localStorage. Clearing storage or removing the app deletes the local data. Our site itself does not use cookies (it is a static site with no server sessions). However, once you consent to Coupang ads, the ad frame may store cookies from Coupang's domain in your browser, subject to Coupang's policies. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

06

Your Rights and Contact

Deleting the app or clearing the app's data and storage in your device settings removes the local data. On the web, clearing the browser's site data (storage) removes the local information. The web also lets you delete your data inside the app: Settings › Data can delete the game in progress, reset your stats, or delete all local data (game in progress, stats, and settings). That in-app deletion deliberately keeps your ad-consent record and your analytics setting — erasing them would silently undo choices you made — so clearing the browser's site data remains the way to remove those as well. On the web, you can turn third-party ad consent on or off at any time in Settings, and you can turn usage-analytics collection off at any time with its own switch (turning it off stops any new data from being sent from this device immediately). On the web, no third-party ad is shown until you have given consent for third-party advertising (until then, only our own house ad appears), and clearing your browser's site data also erases the consent record, withdrawing consent. There is no ad-removal purchase on the web. Once advertising is introduced on iOS and Android, you can reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, and where consent is required, you can change your ad-personalization consent through the in-app consent management (UMP).
